“Your words, not ours” - Capstone Project centered around women’s rights in Pakistan.

Background: Since 2018, every year, around International Women's Day, the Aurat March is held in various cities in Pakistan, led by feminist activists. Each year, the march has a different theme and presents a manifesto and demands to the government pertaining to women's rights issues.

Problem: In a country where gender based violence is leading to the most heinous crimes, men boldly ridicule any feminist movement that takes place. The march receives intense backlash each year from men in the religious right. They call it “vulgar”, “unislamic”, “shameless” and much more.

Objective: Highlight the hypocrisy in opposing the march and emphasize its purpose among audiences who currently oppose it.

Idea: This campaign aims to flip the words that men have been using to oppose the efforts of Aurat March and reflect on their own hypocritical actions. The campaign takes a tone that will incite self reflection among members of the audience, hoping to join the conversation for women’s rights in a more positive manner.
